  I was never included in social events unless the whole congregation was invited. no one ever called me just to chat. I think I was always viewed with suspicion because I worked and just Ron was the stay at home dad

  the last time I attended a meeting was sometime in November 2011. I tried to attend the special assembly day, but one of the kids vomited in the car on the way over. after that, we had a shepherding call the next Monday, and the elders were such assets about it that I never went to another meeting.

  One experience in our old Kingdom Hall that still HAUNTS me

  the following is a true experience and my daughter gojira101 will verify that it happened to her.

  an experience from our family's past that still haunts me and started my questioning whether this is the true organization of god or not.. my daughter, who has always been a good kid, never gave us any problems [she's an adult now] started regular pioneering.

  within a few weeks of her starting, she fell on a steep hill and tore open her knee and had to have several stitches.

  now that you realise how idiotic some of the jw beliefs are/were, do you feel ashamed of how gullible you were to believe them?.

  if anything my past as an adult jw makes me understand how easily manipulated people are by the people and environment around them.

  and that even intelligent people can be influenced beyond what is rational..

  Homeschooling VS public/private schooling

  i was wondering on the views about homeschooling vs public/private scholling.. thoughts?.

  we homeschooled our kids until this year. Our oldest is in 8th grade and our middle son is in 6th. They are both top of their class academically, but the social adjustments are ongoing. Of course, middle school is rough on a lot of kids who have been in public school all along. We put in a lot of effort to make sure that our kids got a good education, but I think we reached the limit of our ability to teach certain subjects. I just don't know how to teach literature or creative writing - oddly though I am still totally comfortable with the idea of teaching calculus or chemistry.

  those obviously aren't my words, they are from the latest study edition of the watchtower (april 15th, 2013) page 11.. .

  it's nice to know that, not only are we "mentally diseased" - we are also now "gangrenous.

  i asked a co-worker who is not familiar with jehovah's witnesses how would he define the term "annointed remnant.

  he replied "isn't that was john bobbit was left with after lorena took a knife to him.
